Dr. Laura Easter
Chief Operating Officer
Laura Easter joined Elk Hill in 2007 as the first program director for our Spring Garden group home for girls, and was then promoted to develop and lead the newly created community services program. During her tenure, community services grew from providing school-based mental health services and in-home counseling in one locality to serving over 35 schools from Staunton to York, establishing a therapeutic mentoring program and building outpatient therapy services for under served areas.
Dr. Easter received her master's degree in school counseling from Loyola University in Maryland and her doctorate in counselor education from the University of Virginia. She is also a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has served as a counselor working with adults, children, and families in public and private school settings, residential facilities, and community mental health centers, and has also served as adjunct faculty at the University of Virginia teaching and supervising Master's students in the counseling program. Dr. Easter serves on FAPT and CPMTs in several localities.
